A partir do primeiro empreendimento - a loja
de departamentos Armazém Paraíba - novos ne-
gócios foram surgindo. A princípio, alguns dariam
suporte à loja, que se expandia – era uma maneira
inteligente de desenvolver sinergias e economizar
recursos. Hoje, mantendo relações com a matriz his-
tórica, os empreendimentos operam de modo inde-
pendente e autônomo.

After the first venture - the department store Armazém Paraíba

to support the expanding store - it was a clever way to develop
synergies and save resources. Nowadays, although maintaining
